When I was younger I hated change. I fought against it and couldn't see past the loss of the thing I was going to miss so dear.
I know a lot of people feel that way as well. They’re afraid of letting things go because there’s no guarantee that they’ll find something worth the sacrifice.
I'm not quite so resistant to change anymore. I mean, it still SCARES THE POOP OUT OF ME like 90% of the time, but I've come to realize that you have to make room for new adventures, challenges, and BLESSINGS. You can’t just stack one life experience on top of another. That would suffocate everything. Choke them and limit the possibility.
It's true that things can change into something worse and not better. That's a possibility you have to prepare for.
But you know what? Either way, we’ll deal with it.

Saying goodbye isn’t fun. It’s ok to be sad for your loss. It’s natural, healthy, and the grieving process needs to be experienced and honored.
Always remember though, that you have the power to look beyond the loss and into the future, where new possibilities exist.
How I handle a situation, how I choose to look at it, and react to it... It controls about 80% of the outcome.
The fact is, even though I'm not really in control of anything -- I'm in control of so much.
My perception and response is everything.
Once I grasped that, I didn't rid me of my fear, but it did help sooth it. Which goes back to the theme of this whole blog - the theme to life.
"Courage isn't an absence of fear. It's doing what you are afraid to do. It's having the power to let go of the familiar and forge ahead into new territory."
~John Maxwell
So, change is a-foot my friends.
And I think he’d respond much better to a warm hug than to a kick in the face, don’t you??
