Mom,
Hi there!! So yeah, I know I already got you a card and we spent the whole day together and everything, but none of that actually felt like it was from *me*. So I thought I might write you something a little more personal.
You know I love you right? We fight and bicker and aren't always on the same page but I want you to understand that I never question how much you love me. And I trust our relationship enough to know that the opposite is also true.
That's no excuse though. Because I never want you to doubt how much I love and appreciate you.
I know you think that I'm the spitting image of Dad and that I prefer it that way but I swear nothing could be further than the truth.
I have SO MUCH of you in me and I am so incredibly grateful and proud of that. My determination, my vibrancy, my PASSION for life all comes from you.
We both know how amazing Dad is. His dependability, kindness, and loyalty, but mom, none of that is more important to me than the qualities that I've inherited from you.
My life would be dull, drab, and boring if I was 'ALL DAD'.
From you I get my wonder, courage, thirst for adventure, and strength. I call on those traits all of the time and they are an essential part of who I am. Whenever I try something new, question authority, or do something a little risky - I feel you giving me the push I need.
I just want you to know how grateful I am to call you my mom. I have your blood in my veins and that is something I will be thankful for for the rest of my life.
Happy Mothers Day mom.
Love,
Brooklyn
